Sui Network’s Largest DEX Cetus Loses $260M in Hack

Cetus Protocol, the leading decentralized exchange on sui Network, was exploited for over $260 million in a liquidity pool breach. The attack, confirmed by on-chain analytics firm Lookonchain, marks one of the largest DeFi hacks this year.

Transaction volume on Cetus surged to $2.9 billion in 24 hours prior to the exploit, compared to its typical $320 million daily activity. The protocol has temporarily suspended smart contracts while investigating the abnormal activity.
